‘Vol Calls’ not returning after 35 years as Tennessee football coach’s weekly radio show
Vols Calls” is no more.
The longtime call-in show featuring Tennessee coaches fielding questions from fans will not be part of the revamped Vol Network lineup as it seeks to pair live programming with on-demand availability to meet fans’ changing content needs.
“The way to better serve Tennessee fans is to try to do things in a way where they have more access and they have more availability, while helping our coaches,” said Mike Keith, the new “Voice of the Vols.”

“Vols Calls” is no more.
The longtime call-in show featuring Tennessee coaches fielding questions from fans will not be part of the revamped Vol Network lineup as it seeks to pair live programming with on-demand availability to meet fans’ changing content needs.

UT and Vol Network announced on Aug. 7 the lineup for the 2025-26 season, which includes “The Mike Keith Show” from 3-5 p.m. ET on Thursday nights with Keith and coach Josh Heupel during football season. Fans can submit questions via UT’s social media accounts to the show, which will run from Aug. 28 through May 14.
“Vols Calls” began in 1989 and every Tennessee football coach from the late Johnny Majors through Heupel has been featured on the show. Former “Voice of the Vols” Bob Kesling hosted the show with co-hosts including Brent Hubbs and Keith in the three decades of the show. Kesling retired following the Tennessee basketball season, ending his tenure after 26 years.
