Gio Reyna set for Bundesliga stay as Borussia Dortmund receive €3m offer despite USMNT star agreeing Parma move

Borussia Monchengladbach are leading the race for Gio Reyna after submitting a €3 million bid, despite Parma’s earlier push to land the USMNT man.

Reyna looked set to join Parma this summer, but Monchengladbach have now emerged as frontrunners, according to Gianluca Di Marzio. Die Fohlen have submitted an offer of around €3-3.5m, which falls short of Dortmund’s €10m (£8m/$11m) valuation. Parma previously bid €6m, but Reyna has shown a preference for staying in the Bundesliga and is open to a move to Gladbach.

The 22-year-old’s career at BVB has stalled due to recurring injuries and inconsistent performances, leaving him out of the club’s long-term plans. With just one year left on his contract, Dortmund risk losing him for free next summer if no deal is struck now. Regular playing time will be key for Reyna, who needs to impress Mauricio Pochettino to secure his spot in the USMNT squad ahead of the 2026 World Cup.

Reyna has made 147 appearances for the Black and Yellows, contributing 19 goals and 18 assists. He started only three of the 16 Bundesliga games in which he featured last season and was in the starting XI on two occasions in the Champions League.

Dortmund are expected to give their answer soon, with Parma still interested but behind Gladbach in the race. If negotiations stall, Reyna could remain in limbo until deadline day, with the possibility of leaving on a free transfer next summer looming large.
