Ohio State football vs Texas in Week 1 to be ‘Game of the Century’
Former Ohio State Buckeye TreVeyon Henderson started his New England Patriots career with an exclamation point, scoring a touchdown on his first touch in the NFL during the Pats’ preseason opener against the Washington Commanders on Aug. 8.
Henderson received the kickoff and took it all the way down the field for an opening touchdown. He had a 66-yard touchdown run to make it 31-0 in the second quarter against Oregon in the semifinals at the Rose Bowl. Against Texas, he took a harmless-looking screen pass and carried it 75 yards at the end of the first half for a crucial touchdown.
Having a “Game of the Century” pop up during the college football season is a rarity, let alone in Week 1. Curiously, Ohio State’s last participation in a “Game of the Century” also involved the Longhorns: It came in Week 2 of both teams’ 2006 seasons, with No. 1 Ohio State beating No. 2 Texas 24-7 in Austin behind Troy Smith’s 269 passing yards and two passing touchdowns.y..)
