Arsenal won the game from Ipswich Town by a tiebreaker of one to zero. The fit, played against boring Premier League fixtures at the Emirates Stadium, had no apparent fire emission. Gunners allowed the first half to slip away and held Kai Havertz to touching home Leandro Trossard’s low cross.

Myles Lewis-Skelly: Keeps his place, a real vote in confidence for him. Defended very well for the most part and was assured in possession. Had a couple of little tussles with Ipswich players that home fans will love. 7.
Declan Rice. Beautiful patterns administered from the base of the Arsenal midfield. Missed the opportunity to put a superb volley into effect. Such a good display where the England international showed his versatility yet again. 7.
Martin Odegaard: Managed to get forward beautifully and brought some kind of zip in an otherwise slow attack from Arsenal in the final third. A few good corner deliveries also to replace Saka too. 7.
Kai Havertz: Grabbed another one to make it two for him in as many games. This is where he can fill the midfield and break the lines beyond Jesus to score those kinds of goals. Decent all-round performance and, arguably, could have scored more. 7.
Gabriel Martinelli: Did well in the right wing position for most of the time. Beat Davis a couple of times to make some good deliveries. 7.
Gabriel Jesus: Absolutely everywhere in the first half winning back possession consistently. Denied a really good finish by an offside call. Faded to a lesser extent in the second half as Arsenal had less dominance. 7.
Leandro Trossard: Grabbed the game-winning assist with a classic piece of wing play. A little quiet aside from that on the night but still a big contribution. 7.
SUBSTITUTES
Mikel Merino: Brought in bit of defensive solidity on the field after coming in midfield. Some zip in the final thirds where he forced a good save from Muric. 7.
