Club evaluate forgotten Arsenal attacker to cover exit – Already worked out ‘business model’
The Brazilian club Internacional has begun initial discussions with Arsenal regarding a move for forward Marquinhos, where they plan to fill the gap left by Wesley.
That’s according to GE Globo and UOL, who both report that the forgotten Arsenal man is being considered by Internacional as a replacement for their striker as he heads to Krasnodar.
This is the information both newspapers are carrying on the story today, explaining that with Inter about to agree to the sale of Wesley to the Russian side, they are already looking in the market for a replacement.
One of the names considered as an attack reinforcement is Marquinhos, who this season was on loan at Fluminense from Arsenal.
They’ve already “sought information” about the player from Arsenal and are looking into an attack for him in the coming weeks.
“Business model” already done, with the Brazilian side wanting it a loan deal with purchase option included at the end. Buying the 21-year-old outright has been ruled out as the club’s current financial situation wouldn’t allow it.
While Marquinhos spent the season on-loan with Fluminense, that Rio team will not exercise their own purchase option to sign him, which stood at R$50 million or about £6.5m.
