The biggest SEC homer in media props up Alabama, crushes Ohio State football
The Ohio State football program is the defending national champion, which took down two SEC teams en route to winning it all. Neither of those games was particularly close, either. Both of the games against Tennessee and Texas were won by double digits by the Buckeyes.
Despite the fact that the Buckeyes did that, they are still rated below Texas in both polls. Those two teams will faceeach other in the first game of the season, which will give us a good look at who might be the best team in the country very early on.
One of the biggest SEC homers in sports media does not like where the Ohio State Buckeyes are located in the polls. Paul Finebaum of the SEC Network and ESPN believes that Alabama got hosed in the polls, and he believes they should be ranked ahead of Ohio State.
While speaking on the McElroy and Cubelic in the Morning Podcast, Finebaum went on a rant about the Buckeyes, saying they should be ranked lower than the Crimson Tide.
“I think they were way too low (in the AP Poll) yesterday. I don’t know if we’ve ever said that in modern times. But to me, they are a top two, top three, or top four team. I put them in there over Ohio State and a couple of other schools as well. Maybe even Georgia.”
