Pep Guardiola has backed Arsenal to win the Premier League title next season, insisting that Mikel Arteta’s side have developed into one of the strongest and most complete teams in European football.
The Manchester City manager, who has witnessed Arsenal’s rise firsthand over the past few seasons, believes the Gunners have all the ingredients required to remain at the top of English football. Guardiola praised the remarkable work Arteta has done at the Emirates Stadium and suggested that Arsenal are now entering a period where they can consistently challenge for and win major honours.
Speaking about Arsenal’s progress, Guardiola highlighted the transformation the club has undergone since Arteta took charge. What began as a long-term rebuilding project has evolved into a title-winning team capable of competing against the very best sides in the world. According to Guardiola, Arsenal’s growth has been one of the most impressive stories in modern football.
The Spaniard pointed to Arsenal’s balance across the pitch as one of the key reasons behind his prediction. Defensively, the Gunners have become extremely difficult to break down, while their midfield possesses the energy, creativity, and intelligence needed to control matches. Going forward, Arsenal have a collection of talented attackers capable of deciding games in an instant.
Guardiola also praised the mentality that Arsenal have developed under Arteta. He noted that winning a Premier League title requires far more than technical quality, stressing that consistency, resilience, and mental strength are equally important. In his view, Arsenal demonstrated all of those qualities throughout their successful campaign.
The City boss believes Arsenal have learned valuable lessons from previous title races and setbacks. Having experienced both heartbreak and triumph, the squad has matured significantly and now understands what it takes to compete under intense pressure throughout a demanding season.
A major factor behind Guardiola’s confidence is the leadership within the Arsenal squad. Players such as Declan Rice, Martin Ødegaard, Gabriel Magalhães, and Bukayo Saka have become central figures in the team’s success. Their influence both on and off the pitch has helped create a winning culture that Guardiola greatly admires.
The former Barcelona and Bayern Munich manager reserved special praise for Arteta, who previously worked as his assistant at Manchester City. Guardiola described Arteta as one of the brightest coaches in football and credited him for building a clear identity at Arsenal. The style of play, attention to detail, and tactical organisation displayed by the Gunners have all reflected Arteta’s vision.
Guardiola suggested that Arsenal’s hunger for more success could make them even stronger next season. Winning a major trophy often provides players with additional confidence and belief, and he expects Arsenal to return with even greater determination to defend their title.
While acknowledging that Manchester City, Liverpool, Chelsea, and other rivals will pose serious challenges, Guardiola believes Arsenal are currently the benchmark in English football. Rather than being viewed as challengers, he feels the Gunners are now the team every other club will be trying to catch.
The City manager also highlighted Arsenal’s recruitment strategy as a major strength. Over recent years, the club has consistently signed players who fit Arteta’s system and long-term vision. This careful planning has allowed Arsenal to build a squad with both quality and depth, something Guardiola believes is essential for sustained success.
Looking ahead to the summer transfer window, Guardiola suggested Arsenal could become even more formidable if they strengthen key areas of the squad. With the club expected to remain ambitious in the market, he believes the Gunners have an excellent opportunity to build on their recent achievements.
Another aspect that impressed Guardiola is the connection between the team and its supporters. The atmosphere at the Emirates Stadium has become one of the most vibrant in the country, and the unity between players, coaches, and fans has played a significant role in Arsenal’s resurgence.
Guardiola believes successful teams are often driven by a shared sense of belief, and Arsenal currently possess exactly that. The confidence flowing through the club has helped create an environment where players can thrive and perform at their highest level.
Despite the unpredictability of the Premier League, Guardiola remains convinced that Arsenal are best positioned to finish top of the table once again. Their blend of youth and experience, combined with strong leadership and tactical discipline, makes them one of the most dangerous teams in world football.
For Arsenal supporters, Guardiola’s comments will be seen as a significant vote of confidence from one of the greatest managers in the history of the game. Having dominated English football for much of the past decade, his assessment carries considerable weight.
Whether Arsenal can meet those expectations remains to be seen, but Guardiola’s message is unmistakable. The Gunners have established themselves among football’s elite, and in his opinion, they are favourites to lift the Premier League trophy again next season.
I greatly respect Pep with all he has done in football. With a man who has had success in Spain, Germany and then England brings in a young coach (Arteta) as his right hand person in England and achieves even more success. The young coach branches off to be a manager of another club and for 3 yrs running is 2nd in the league breathing behind Pep. When the master again goes head to head with his former student for the 9months stretch season and this time loses by 7 points at the end of the campaign. Only a great man will know that it is time to go just like what Pep did. Hats off to Pep and us football fans are in awe of the best manager in football .
