Borussia Dortmund ‘once again considering’ Renato Veiga — report
It’s been all rather quiet on the Renato Veiga front since the 22-year-old did not manage to stick with Juventus following his loan there in the second half of last season, and is now instead a card-carrying member of the Bomb Squad™. And his only way out from there is to find a way out of the club (temporarily or permanently), since we don’t seem to be considering him at all even after the long-term injury suffered by Levi Colwill
But one team who are said to be considering him (once again), are Borussia Dortmund. According to Sky Deutschland, BVB had a deal agreed with Veiga last summer as well before nothing came of that, but could now try again following their own impactful defensive injury. Unlike Colwill, Niklas Süle should be back in just a couple months, but Dortmund may yet decide that they need to bring in another defender to help provide cover for their main man.
Presumably this would most likely take the form of a loan, should something more serious materialize here, but I’m not exactly holding my breath. Dortmund have yet to figure out Carney Chukwuemeka’s situation, let alone get anything done here. (And we’re swiftly running out of international loan spots, too: down to just two by my count after the three at Strasbourg and Deivid Washington at Santos.)
