Fabrizio Romano confirms Borussia Dortmund interest in Chelsea player

Chelsea fans are waiting for the club to get a deal for Xavi Simons over the line. Over time, some have warmed up to the idea of bringing in Alejandro Garnacho, if available for a bargain fee, as well. But as things stand, neither of those moves seem imminent as the Blues seem intent of sanctioning exits first before thinking about making more signings.

One of the players they are looking to part ways with is Renato Veiga. He was expected to leave this summer and Levi Colwill’s injury does not appear to have altered those plans, despite many fans wanting to see him being brought back into the fold in these circumstances.

Veiga saw a potential move to Atletico Madrid collapse over the summer. Now, he is being linked with another one of European football’s giants in the form of Borussia Dortmund. But once again, the required transfer fee could prove to be a stumbling block.

As reported by Fabrizio Romano, Borussia Dortmund made an approach to consider a possible bid to sign Veiga but a move is still deemed as expensive. Chelsea will only consider a permanent transfer.

It was just last summer that Chelsea signed Veiga from FC Basel for a transfer fee believed to be in the region of £12 million. But now, it is believed that the Blues are looking for a figure around £35 million to part ways with him.
