Now, Smith enters the new season as a top-tier Heisman contender and the face of a loaded Ohio State offense.
Several young quarterbacks are generating buzz, including Texas sophomore Arch Manning, coming in at No. 23. He takes over as the Longhorns’ full-time starter after throwing for 939 yards and nine touchdowns in limited action last season.
Other notable quarterbacks to watch include LSU’s Garrett Nussmeier, No. 8 on the list, who returns after passing for over 4,000 yards, and Clemson’s Cade Klubnik, landing at No. 4, coming off a 36-touchdown campaign.
