‘I would like to join Arsenal and take Martinelli’s place in the team’ – Brighton open to selling their Star Player to Arsenal for less than £80 million as player begs club not to disappoint him like Caicedo

Arsenal are likely the frontrunners in the hunt for Brighton Hove Albion’s Kaoru Mitoma.

Recent reports suggest that Arsenal have made quite a headway with regard to the Japanese international and even have outshined competitors Manchester United and also Manchester City.

As a result, Mikel Arteta believes that the same might have to be try before judging whether he could add more value to Arsenal’s chances, mostly against City and Liverpool, based on his performances since breaking into Brighton’s starting eleven in 2022.

Gabriel Martinelli has had a disappointing season thus far after having had a wonderful performance in 2022/23, scoring just two goals in the Premier League before finishing off with a goal against Crystal Palace in Arsenal’s big victory.

Spanish newspaper Fichajes reports that Arsenal are aware of pursuing Mitoma and now have become very aggressive front-runners in the transfer hunt, while United and City still remain contenders. The winger contributed heavily to Brighton’s win and is apparently on the radar of this North London club.

Mitoma might get on the lines like other players of Brighton who transferred to Big Six Clubs. Ben White and Leandro Trossard joined Arsenal among these.

However, any transfer will definitely not happen in January because Brighton manager Roberto de Zerbi is not willing to sell a significant player at this stage in the season.

Brighton will only part away with their players if it falls under the right circumstance and condition regarding transfer fees. Brighton is said to demand above £70 million for Mitoma while negotiations can start in the summer season.

Arsenal had also success negotiations with the Seagulls in recruiting Trossard and White; but faced hurdles trying to drag Moises Caicedo away from the south coast in January 2022.

As Arsenal deepen their efforts to include Kaoru Mitoma in their ranks, the summer will promise to occupy many watching eyes in the upcoming shifting window.

Besides Manchester United and Manchester City, it’s one more club in the competition to sign the Japanese winger to their attacking stocks for next season. The fans are now more eager to know more about how the deals are going and if Mitoma will be traveling to Emirates Stadium soon.
