Arsenal ‘want to take’ player – Worry for club president as Gunners arrive for 22-year-old

According to a report coming from South America, Arsenal might be interested in the goalkeeper of Boca Juniors, Leandro Brey. The 22-year-old joined the Argentine club from Los Andes in 2022 but only started gaining first-team appearances in the second half of this year.

In the current calendar year, Brey has appeared 21 times, keeping 10 clean sheets and conceding 16 goals on the way through. These impressive performances for Boca Juniors have impressed Arsenal enough to put them on high alert and they are closely monitoring the player’s progression, or at least, that’s what Pasión Fútbol is reporting with the added information that the Gunners ‘want to take’ the man to their club.

According to them, the Argentinian is just beginning to show signs that he could become a “great” goalkeeper. Other teams are interested in him as well as Mikel Arteta’s side, but no names were given.

Pasión Fútbol says that the President from Boca Juniors, Juan Román Riquelme, has “to keep attentive” the interest of Arsenal and others. They say Brey is wanted by that North London club, but they don’t state whether he is one for January or next summer. His contract with the team is valid until December 2027.
