Patrick and Brittany Mahomes Preparing for Major Life Update on Sunday

Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs are apparently enjoying a first-round postseason bye this weekend, being the No. 1 seed in the AFC. This break has come just at the right time for Mahomes and his family.
Last week, the NFL superstar disclosed that his wife, Brittany, is due to give birth to their third child on Sunday. If the baby doesn’t arrive on Sunday, she’ll be induced on Monday.
“In terms of Patrick Mahomes, he is just about as smiling as any one gets back to KC. His wife Brittany is due to deliver their third child on Sunday. I think she’s got this whole day to herself before they’re looking at planning to induce on Monday. For obvious reasons, this was an added bit of motivation for Patrick in getting that bye week!” NFL insider Tracy Wolfson reported on X after the Chiefs’ Week 18 defeat to the Denver Broncos.
Mahomes was fully aware of Brittany’s bye-week due date throughout the 2024 NFL regular season.
“Brittany says I’ve been stressing her out too much this season,” Mahomes said during an interview before the Chiefs’ Christmas Day win over the Pittsburgh Steelers. “So, I gotta try to not put so much stress on her through these football games and get the bye.
“Hopefully, God works the right way and maybe we can have the baby on the bye week somewhere and then everything will work out perfectly.”
Patrick and Brittany already have two children: Sterling Skye, 3, and Patrick “Bronze” Lavon, 2.
Brittany posted her final maternity photos on Instagram earlier this week.
“Hello 2025. We’re ready for you little one,” she wrote as the caption.
Mahomes and the Chiefs earned the AFC’s No. 1 seed with an impressive 15-2 regular-season record. The reigning Super Bowl champions will face off against the Houston Texans in a divisional-round matchup at Arrowhead Stadium next weekend.
