Ohio State football is experiencing incredible progress. The Buckeyes have now set up a national championship contest against Notre Dame with their latest victory, adding to a three-wins-in-a-row streak after the loss to bitter rival Michigan on the last day of November. This luck is even flowing into the NFL. The Houston Texans beat the Los Angeles Chargers, 32-12: C. J. Stroud earned his first measure of revenge against Michigan’s coach Jim Harbaugh with his Houston Texas last Sunday.
The Harbaughs: deservedly praised because they did so much throughout the regular season with the Chargers. Last few years, though, his former accusers at Buckeye had more than enough reason to complain. The ex-Michigan HC beat Stroud and Ohio State two straight times (suspended for the 2023 matchup, but Wolverines prevailed anyway) and won a national title last season. He brought a seismic shift in the rivalry.
There might, however, be a shift in the tide again. Ryan Day although has been 1-4 against Michigan in his entire coaching career but himself and the team just needed one victory to regain collegiate supremacy. A heartbreaking defeat could arguably motivate the program to all-time-type run.
But, simply, Columbus just wants to have its bragging rights over Ann Arbor this time around. Stroud gave that city as close to real bragging rights as it can have until next year, but the Texans’ defense and Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert did their parts, too.
Scarlet and Grey supporters celebrated Harbaugh’s early playoffs exit, elevating their already potent state of euphoria.
