Another former Texas A&M Aggies player has been found in the NCAA transfer portal.
Although Donovan Green is a sophomore tight end, since the 2022 season, he has not recorded any statistics. He will be taking his talents somewhere else this season. He entered the transfer portal.
Now, he has found a new destination in the SEC.
As reported by Hayes Fawcett of On3 Sports, Green is committed to playing with the LSU Tigers. He will have two years of eligibility left.
Originally, Green was a four-star recruit hailing from Dickinson, Texas, classified as No. 6 tight end in the nation back in 2022.
Though a player endowed with high potential which Texas A&M had seen in him, he showed no such capability in terms of performing at field level. He was not able to become one biggest impact piece for Aggies throughout the tenure with program.
He gets some contributions to offense at the back-end of 2022. He finished the year with 22 receptions for 233 punctuations and two touchdowns.
After showing some promise his first year, Green spent the following two years battling injuries. In fact, he did not play the 2023 season because he tore his ACL.
Not surprisingly, Green has not had very good luck. Here’s hoping he stays healthy and “turns his life around” at LSU-unless he’s playing Texas A&M.
Brian Kelly and the Tigers are clearly all about what Green can bring to the field for them; if he reaches his full potential, then he could easily become a high-impact tight end at LSU.
It will not be good that it has not worked out for Green as the Aggie wanted, however. He was supposed to be a star, according to recruiting hype. Now he has to make that claim by competing with the Tigers.
