This entry to the official transfer portal of NCAA closes on December 28, and this means that there are some last-minute attempts for some players to play in different teams. There has been a big surprise that came in for the Tennessee football roster on Thursday morning.
The news states that back-up signal caller Gaston Moore is going to move his talents somewhere else. As informed by insider Matt Zenitz, he has decided to enter the transfer portal. Moore has played five games this season, most of which were played at the tail-end of the game.

Tennessee QB Gaston Moore has entered the transfer portal
Moore was recruited to UCF in high school, but transferred to Tennessee in 2021. All in all, he has spent four complete years with the Vols but has one season of eligibility left. Had he returned to Knoxville, he’d have been backing up Nico Iamaleava again.
Moore is going to try to find a program in 2025 where he thinks he will have the best chance to be the starter. He passed for 201 yards and two touchdowns this past season with the Vols. Most significantly, he came in for Iamaleava against Mississippi State when Nico had to leave with a head injury.
For his career as a Vol, Moore finished with 273 passing yards along with his two scores. Things didn’t go exactly as they had planned for him here at UT; he followed Heupel from UCF to the SEC program. He will make up his mind soon about his next move, as Moore is preparing to join his third team.
