Tottenham has emerged as a potential suitor for an exceptional defender from Serie A as well as other, it seems, Premier League clubs such as Manchester United, Aston Villa.
Reports say three well-known English Premier League teams are closely following four-footed Dutch defender Sam Beukema of Bologna.
By the time the player will turn 27, the international footballer from the Netherlands has already attracted the interest of Tako Bertelung, the head coach of Tottenham Hotspur, and two other clubs, Manchester United and Aston Villa.
Bologna played against Liverpool for the Champions League Last Week, and even though the Italian side fought well, they lost 2-0.
Their goals were scored by Alexis Mac Allister and Mohamed Salah. Beukema’s performance, however, was remarkable, as he was able to defend well, as the potential, which has already shown itself in the current season of Serie A, confirmed.
Beukema also impressed even though his team was on the losing side, and continued to add to his fine form that began the season where he played eight official matches and made one assist.
His reliability in central defense has sparked the interest of teams seeking a quality addition to their backline.

Nicolo Schira, an analyst associated with the five major Italian sports newspapers, has explained to fans and commentators that the inflow of scouts from the British clubs in question was aimed primarily at checking on the performance of Beukema against Liverpool.
If any of those teams wish to acquire Beukema, they will probably face fierce competition from Bologna. The club that plays in Serie A will not easily concede their best defender’s position as they have a contract with him until 2027.
Furthermore, it is included in the transfer agreement that in case of a transfer to another club, a fifth of the transfer value, which will come to Beukema, will go to his former club AZ Alkmaar.
Given the increasing appreciation for the player, it looks like it’s just a matter of time before Beukema receives a serious offer from one of these Premier League teams.
It is important to mention that North London based club has an abundance of central defenders with from the pairing of Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven who have both been linked with Real Madrid.
